Streamline Surgical are pleased to announce the launch of their new web forum to complement their new website. The forum has been launched to support the Streamline Surgical team’s commitment to aftercare and enable ongoing communication between patients and staff.
The forum has been designed to be attractive and simple to use. It is a place where patients who have had surgery or may be considering surgery can obtain facts and contact fellow patients. Whether they are interested in RNY gastric bypass surgery, gastric band surgery or a gastric balloon, users can obtain facts and contact fellow patients and experts.
All information on the forum is underpinned with sound clinical advice, not myths and folklore. Similar weight loss surgery forums are sometimes led by the most vocal members. This can make them popular but risks myths and bad habit being passed off as empirical advice. This can put users at risk as they are not being provided with the correct information.
In some cases, other websites and forums charge a fee and some are funded by surgical companies used for marketing. The Streamline Surgical expert team believe that people that have been through weight loss surgery or are looking at it as an option for them should be able to access a service free of charge without risk of being coerced into making decisions.
As part of the unique Streamline Surgical aftercare package which includes one year of structured post operative follow up visits, the launch of the new forum means that patients will also be able to make contact with members of the team at anytime to seek advice. One of the most exciting features of the forum is the regular ASK THE EXPERT chat room where user can get an immediate reply from a Streamline Surgical expert outside conventional office hours.
As well as the creation of the Streamline Surgical forum, a facebook page and twitter account has also been developed. The Facebook page allows members to access further information on weight loss surgery and also interact with other patients.
In addition to facebook, the Streamline Surgical team have also developed a twitter account. The team see this as a great opportunity for information exchange and debate and discussion around obesity and weight loss surgery. Streamline Surgical are twittering as TheFatDoctor and are hoping that their followers will be interested with their regular updates on obesity and weight loss surgery and that they will be just as popular as regular tweeters Stephen Fry, Ashton Kutcher and Jonathan Ross!
