Donna To Speak In Bangalore

GRI, UNEP SBCI, and Cognito, are hosting a Multi-stakeholder Workshop on Sustainability Principles and Reporting for the Construction and Real Estate Sector in the Indian Context  on the 6th of January in Banglaroe at The Oberoi.

Presenting at the workshop is Donna McIntire of UNEP SBCI, USA. Donna McIntire is a registered architect and LEED® Accredited Professional with a Bachelor of Science and Masters of Architecture from University of Maryland, USA.

She is known for designing the very 1st LEED v1.0 Platinum project and her work for the US Green Building Council, where she administered the LEED Green Building Rating System. She managed the Energy and Sustainable Design Program for the US Department of State responsible for greening US embassies around the world.

Over and above sharing her views on the need for sustainable buildings and its benefits Donna will also introduce the participants to the Common Carbon Metric for measuring energy efficiency and reporting greenhouse gas emissions from building operations – a global tool for the building industry, which she recently helped launch at COP15 in Copenhagen on 11 December 2009.

Other speakers at the workshop include Beroz Gazdar, Vice President - Infrastructure Development Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra, S. Kanappan, VP & Head for EDRC and Supply Chain Management, L&T, ECC Division, Niyati Sareen, General Manager - Corporate Social Responsibility, HCC, Katherine Miles from GRI, Amsterdam and Harsh Purohit, Executive Director.
