ORLANDO - Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich was asked during the GOP debate Thursday night which would make the unemployment insurance, particularly in regard to the unemployed who have exhausted their 99 weeks of benefits.
Gingrich called for reforms in the current system, so that each state would be able to create its own incentive program for employees in exchange for insurance payments - something that the Obama administration has to make a serious set of tasks that the president has recently.
But while the former president suggested that the benefits have been abused by people who were more interested in living by the penny the government to find the real work.
"It is fundamentally wrong to give people money for 99 weeks doing nothing," he said.
Most studies of unemployment insurance have shown that fatigue is not a side effect, which provides assistance to the unemployed. The money that is distributed simply does not cover lost wages, out of work.
The more cynically minded claim that Gingrich has condemned the well-being of the type of insurance to remind the class struggle that the Republicans have often fake ... only backwards.
