Taking the fallen palm tree husks, adding water and heating them in an iron skillet then shaping and letting them dry to a hard shell was a common practice for many families in India.
The trees then shed their husks - the dead bark of the palm tree that has fallen to the ground. The husks are pressed into dinnerware plates, which are microwavable, hand washable and can be reused. Here is the exciting part, a gift to nature....the plates are 100% biodegradable and they compost within 2- 3 months in home and industrial composting systems.
However, now in our eco-friendly society, this idea is one that has started a new wave in buying biodegradable dinnerware. These products are durable, compostable, fashionable and reasonably priced.
These products can be used for dinner parties, home meals, main courses, desserts or cookouts.
