From the 20th to the 29th of October there will be over 500 events, documentaries, short films and cartoons from television, cinema and other media productions. Each year more than 50,000 kids participate and special guests drop into at least one of the screenings, shows, interactive events or workshops that are dotted around the Dutch capital and 30 other cities around Holland.
During the CineKids festival there is also a series of Cinekids for Professionals programmes organised where more than 200 media professionals meet. They use this opportunity to network and discuss a whole range of topics related to the production of children related material at a number of seminars, meetings and lectures.
Cinekidstudio.nl also run a website that is designed to encourage children to make short films, documentaries and media productions throughout the year and submit them to CineKids; the best of these are then shown during the festival.
The festival’s events are spread around the city and Amsterdam’s excellent public transport service makes travelling to each venue convenient.
