As already mentioned this afternoon, Michael Silver of Yahoo Sports says that Cedric Benson has been notified of a three-game suspension for violating league policy on their own behavior during the lockout. The appeal will be heard on Tuesday from Benson to adapt and start against the 49ers in San Francisco this weekend. If the suspension is not canceled or reduced, Benson will miss the Buffalo Bills and Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts, next time will respond as a running back Cincinnati Bengals Seattle Seahawks will be against the October 30 .
A source told ESPN Insider Adam Schefter League that Benson has a "strong case" to appeal the suspension, perhaps because players like Kenny Britt and Aqib Talib was not disciplined. Whether the league the right to suspend Benson for actions during the lockout, players are not covered by a collective agreement is complete (and rightly so) is another matter.
